Position



Responsibilities
  • Establishes, implements, and communicates the strategic direction of the Internal Sales Desk, collaborating with other divisions and departments to carry out the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Provides leadership to ensure all activities are consistent with our goals, guidelines and culture by monitoring trends and evolving our strategy to keep up with changing customer expectations.
  • Ensures that departmental decisions, project plans, and budgets such as those for staffing, development, and team execution align across the larger team.
  • Proactively partners with distribution leadership and external agencies to improve presence, solve problems, surface training opportunities, and gather feedback to continually improve the agent and customer experience driving critical value creation and competitive differentiation in the marketplace.
  • Develops teams and leaders, providing coaching on growth and career planning to aid in succession management.
  • Develops and maintains productivity and quality standards through audit and other review mechanisms to ensure policy, procedures, and objectives are carried out.
  • Actively participates in internal dialog with Marketing, Distribution, Operations, Finance, and other key areas to drive overall business results and surface patterns in agent or customer behaviors.
  • Identifies, recommends, and implements new processes, technologies, and systems with the goal of improving the use of resources and materials.
  • Maintains knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in Life insurance and Annuity operations and serves on industry committees to share knowledge and increase visibility of the National Life Group brand.

 

Qualifications
  • Substantial experience in Annuity/Life Insurance Sales or Sales Support activities marked by strong business relationships, skilled leadership and business results.
  • Has 10+ years of leadership experience
  • Deep understanding of Sales and what drives agents’ behaviors
  • Deep Life and Annuity industry experience with strong general business acumen
  • A bachelor’s degree, with a strong academic record
  • Master’s degree is preferred
  • Strategic mindset, focusing both internally and externally, with strong operational leadership
  • Takes accountability for quality results, for treating others professionally and respectfully, and for using productive communication that fosters teamwork and collaboration
  • Well-versed in leading multiple teams; a leader of leaders
  • Ability to target continuous improvement opportunities and drive execution focused on enhancing our service delivery and boosting overall performance
  • Collaborative solutioning style, with a strong bias for action
