Chief Marketing Officer

TRANZACT is seeking a Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) with direct-to-consumer experience leading direct response and performance-driven businesses. The CMO will be a strategic thought leader with responsibility for all aspects of marketing, with an emphasis on defining, developing, and executing data-driven marketing programs and approaches to the organization, developing and executing the strategy for customer growth across all marketing channels, brands, products, and partnerships. This leader enjoys rolling up their sleeves and working in the details while driving the overall strategy, developing data models to make informed decisions, and designing and building marketing organizations and functions with top talent and organizational rigor.

TRANZACT works with the top insurance carriers in the country to market a wide breadth of products, including Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, and Prescription Drug Plan, as well as an array of ancillary products, including dental, vision, life, and indemnity. Position Overview

  • Serve as a key adviser to the C-suite to drive the overall top line, focusing on marketing ROI and effectively finding ways to increase marketing impact.
  • Create and implement a marketing strategy that maximizes sales, revenue retention, conversion rate, and lifetime value of customers.
  • Lead all aspects of the company’s marketing functions, including Paid Digital, Organic and CRM, DRTV, Creative and Content.
  • Serve, coach, hire, develop, and lead a strong and growing marketing team to be positioned for success in the continued evolution of marketing strategies, trends, tactics, and technologies.
  • Create and deliver fully-integrated marketing programs across all company functions to ensure efficiency and alignment for maximum impact.
  • Partner on pitches with the business development and sales teams to help win new business opportunities on existing client accounts and with new prospects.
  • Accelerate growth by managing the marketing funnel and driving conversion rates through deep data analysis, creativity, and growth experimentation.
  • Partner with in-house and client data science and analytics teams to define KPIs, tracking solutions, and ongoing reporting.
  • Understand market trends, customer needs, usage, and buying behavior to size market opportunities and customer demand for the company’s products.
  • Manage a $250m+ marketing budget, leveraging financial rigor to effectively prioritize and allocate resources and media.


Qualifications and Preferred Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or Advertising. MBA or Master’s degree is preferred. Experience will be considered in lieu of higher education. 
  • 10+ years of marketing leadership experience in direct-to-consumer (DTC) and eCommerce.
  • Experience hiring, managing and leading a team.
  • Experience in direct-to-consumer marketing, direct response marketing, call to action campaigns, and digital strategy with large, national or international client brands is strongly preferred.
  • Experience driving customer growth through organic marketing, including developing SEO, social marketing, and content programs. 
  • Experience in traditional media channels including radio, broadcast television, cable and satellite, print, and billboards is a plus.
  • Excellent knowledge of CRM and marketing automation solutions.
  • Experience with Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) and tools.
  • Experience using analytical and BI tools to create insightful reporting to track the business and inform strategy.
