Vice President Paid Media

The Vice President Paid Media will lead a high-performance team looking to take their strategy and accounts to the next level through existing and new media channels, resource and program optimization, new techniques and technology, and data-driven analysis to improve KPIs and performance metrics. This leader will act as the voice of paid media and regularly interact with clients for new business development opportunities or review the existing strategy and performance.

Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, this individual will operate both strategically and tactically as TRANZACT continues to grow new partners, product lines, and channels. With a passion for results-oriented direct response marketing, this digital media leader will focus on revenue retention, media spend, CPA and CRO.

Position Overview

  • Focus on new and innovative performance media services and capabilities, working closely to develop a team to activate programs, resource optimization initiatives, conduct internal audits of campaigns, manage team resources and program integrations for partners
  • Lead, oversee or influence the direct response Media Strategy and direct response Media Planning processes across all paid media channels: search, display, social, and YouTube disciplines to implement comprehensive cross-channel strategies and activation plans
  • Represent TRANZACT in client-facing meetings as the lead media voice
  • Understand and adopt new techniques and technologies that are relevant for direct response media strategies
  • Continuous focus on revenue retention and media spend
  • Ensure team informs business & creative teams with channel-based reports or worksheets to keep everyone informed and minimize surprises
  • Partner on pitches, and win new business opportunities on existing client accounts and with new prospects
  • Enforce development and documents of best practices for improving operational efficiencies within the team
  • Stay apprised of industry standards, media platforms, and new media programs/opportunities and advise on new ways to reach targets
  • Has a network that can be tapped quickly for expertise, information, insights, or talent
  • Hire, develop, mentor, and lead Media team to meet specific business opportunities and develop new media capabilities
  • Partner with in-house and client data science & analytics teams to define KPIs, track solutions, and ongoing reporting to inform media solutions and optimization


  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or Advertising. MBA or Master’s degree is preferred. Experience will be considered in lieu of higher education.
  • Experience: Expertise in direct response advertising & performance digital media. 10+ years of relevant, progressive experience in new/digital/emerging media planning and media buying; 3-5 years in direct team management experience.



  • Data savvy, tech-savvy and comfortable with transparency in media revenue models
  • Proven team leadership experience is essential, along with knowledge of digital marketing strategies, search, display, social, video, and mobile tactics, its emerging applications, as well as familiarity with digital marketing technologies
  • Must be able to collaborate with a strong POV backed by facts, experience, and insights
  • Solid D2C experience working with large, national, or international client brands is strongly preferred
  • Significant hands-on experience crafting and leading social media strategies, from brief through to implementation and sustainment
  • Be a hardcore believer in, and serious practitioner of, data- and insights-driven planning in all aspects of the business
  • Comfortable with failing forward, experimenting and test and learns
  • Experience with traditional media planning is a plus
